November figures to be a busy month for cases before the Alexandria Planning Commission, so two meetings are planned. Due to the election on Tuesday, November 6, the meetings will be on Thursday, November 1 and Thursday, November 8, 2018.
The preliminary docket for the November 1, 2018 public hearing was published yesterday, and includes the following cases of note:
- Special Use Permit amendment for the Chart House, 5 Cameron Street, to allow outdoor speakers at an existing restaurant
- Special Use Permit for B. Doughnut, 215 South Union Street, to operate a restaurant
- Special Use Permit for Montgomery Center, 300 Montgomery Street, to allow a projecting sign on the corner of North Fairfax Street and Montgomery Street
- Rezoning request from Zelaya Homes, LLC for 309 North Patrick Street, from CL/Commercial Low with a proffer to RB/Townhouse
- Development Special Use Permit and related requests for Fairlington Presbyterian Church, 3846 King Street, to construct a multifamily residential building, including a special use permit to increase the floor area ratio in exchange for affordable housing units
- Text amendment to consolidate the boards of architectural review for the Old and Historic Alexandria District and the Parker-Gray District
The Planning Commission will also receive an update on the City Strategic Facilities Plan.
Staff reports for the November 1 hearing are anticipated to be published on Tuesday, October 23, and for the November 8 hearing on Tuesday, October 30, 9 days before each hearing.
